How To Help Your Child Excel In Academic Activities

Children do far better in school studies if parents are well involved in their academic activities. It is not an easy task for every parent to meet up with this huge task but it is worth sacrificing after all.
Here are few things you could do to help you get ahead in making that child a star!

Be familiar with your child school and teachers : Introduce yourself to your child’s teacher. Some don’t count this as anything but it matters a lot because the teacher will know you are interested and your child will also know you are interested in what happens in their classroom. Let them have your phone numbers and email address for follow- up and in case they need to contact you or send a message.

Get a calendar of events : Know your child school year events, important school dates, holidays, inter house sports, cultural day among others. Store any school contact and details on your phone, Children loves it when their parents are fully involved in their school life.

Make a quiet consistent place for your children to do their homework: Let the homework battle begin! Unfortunately, for some, it will be pretty difficult to assist our wards. But one thing in particular that will be helpful is to get a quiet place for homework that they go to consistently week in week out.

Make it a place that is accessible to you so you can easily sit down and help them if they need it. One of the most valuable things about homework is your ability to keep up with what is going on with the curriculum and being able to help your kids with their learning.

Attending parent-teacher meetings is another way to stay informed: These are usually held once or twice a year at progress reporting periods. The conferences are a chance to start or continue conversations with your child’s teacher, and discuss strategies to help your child do his or her best in class.

Sleep Is Important : Make sure they are getting enough daily. Transitions like the start of the school year are tiring and can create stress for children even if the transition from holidays is going well. Good sleep reduces stress, increases concentration and makes for happier kids in general.

Good Breakfast And Good Lunch : Food impacts a child’s energy and concentration so start the day with good food and continue with their school lunches. Some good brain foods kids will like include eggs, yoghurt, vegetables, fish (tins of tuna), oatmeal, apples among others. Try including a few in different forms that they will find tasty.
